According to The Hollywood Reporter Billy Dee Williams will return as Lando Calrissian in J.J. Abrams' upcoming "Star Wars: Episode IX." No other details were revealed to us in the report, but, suffice to say, this is confirmation of the rumors that have been swirling around for a few months now that Lando would be included in the concluding film of the trilogy. Williams is 81 years old and walks with a cane, so this will clearly not be a physical role by any stretch of the imagination.
"Episode IX" is set to start shooting this summer and will be directed by J.J. Abrams. The returning cast will include Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver, with Keri Russell being a noteworthy addition.
The film is set to open Dec. 20, 2019.
