It’s official, Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro” will be having its North American premiere at the New York Film Festival during the first week of October. This means no Telluride.
Will Cooper show up to promote it? He’s not going to Venice. He would be walking that very thin line between promoting the film as an “actor,” which he cannot do, and as a “director.” We’re not entirely sure how that will work out. I would bet the safe option would be for Cooper to just not do press.
“Maestro” is set to be the the first film to premiere in the new David Geffen Hall, home of the New York Philharmonic, which Leonard Bernstein famously led for over a decade. It was an absolute no-brainer to screen this film at NYFF.
There film is set to stream via Netflix on December 20th. It’ll be playing a few theaters in late November to qualify for Oscars.
