This whole Ezra Miller controversy is very amusing. It completely shatters people’s conception of “cancel culture.”
Miller had amassed enough misdeeds this summer to forever be blacklisted from Hollywood, but it seems as though he’s un-cancellable. He’s put WB execs on some kind of voodoo spell to just roll with it.
Variety’s now reporting that WB executives are open to the idea of keeping Miller as the Flash. I called it. They don’t care one bit about what he did as long as the upcoming summer release makes money (and it will):
Given that Miller has stayed out of trouble since beginning mental health treatment in the summer, some executives are amenable to continuing with the actor as the world-saving speedster after “The Flash” bows on June 16.
Miller's legal troubles captured nationwide attention this summer, when the actor completely vanished after his criminal conduct in Hawaii, Massachusetts, Vermont and North Dakota. Miller has been accused of throwing a chair and choking a woman, grooming minors, burglary, assault, housing people in an unlicensed cannabis farm and other misconduct.
Then, in August, Miller apologized for his recent behavior, blaming it on “complex mental health issues.” Being a wanted man in four states sure takes a lot of complexities to achieve.
Does Ezra have blackmail on some of these Warner execs? How is it that the one person who has gotten them the worst press imaginable is also the one who will survive James Gunn’s reboot of the DCEU?
I was also told back in August that “The Flash” earned the highest test-score ratings in DCEU history. Warner Bros was ecstatic. “The Flash,” which is said to be one of the better-directed DCEU movies.
