It was disheartening to hear the news that Bob Einstein, the two-time Emmy winning “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor died at the young age of 76.
His brother, fellow comedian and actor Albert Brooks, tweeted the news on Wednesday: "R.I.P. My dear brother Bob Einstein. A great brother, father and husband. A brilliantly funny man. You will be missed forever."
Einstein was also known for creating the satirical stuntman character of Super Dave Osborne.
His 'Curb' co-star Richard Lewis had this to say about the actor's passing. "I knew him forever," Lewis wrote on Twitter. "His long career is hard to match. His role on #curbyourenthusiasm was excruciatingly brilliant! Our cast and crew will be devastated. He was so loved. He told me how much he loved LD and Curb. RIP buddy."
Einstein has been playing the scene-stealing Marty Funkhouser since the fourth season. I always looked forward to his appearances on the show. He could make you laugh just by opening his mouth. He was a brilliant comedic actor, and of course, his brilliant theatrics as Super Dave need to be mentioned here as well.
"Curb" is supposed to come back for a 10th season. I sure hope few episodes of Funkhouser have already been filmed.
