Much thanks to a source over at Production Weekly who has tipped me that long-time Christopher Nolan collaborator and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema’s name is on the production sheet for “The Odyssey.”
Not surprising news given a recent the rumor that van Hoytema and Nolan had tested IMAX’s next-generation 65mm film camera for their upcoming epic. Van Hoytema has been Nolan’s DP since 2014, having collaborated with him on “Interstellar,” “Dunkirk,” “Tenet” and “Oppenheimer.”
Meanwhile, based on video proof, it looks like the sets are now being built in Morocco for “The Odyssey.” By the looks of it, Nolan will remain faithful to the source material and the story will be set during the middle of the Bronze Age, between 1600 and 1200 B.C.
