It’s been almost four years since Martin Scorsese was on a movie set — principal photography wrapped on “Killers of the Flower Moon” in October 2021. We’re all wondering what’s next for the legendary filmmaker. He’s not getting any younger, and even he admits that.
Speaking to USA Today, Scorsese, 82, is coming off his great cameo in Seth Rogen’s “The Studio.” He says he has no clue what he’ll be shooting as his next film, but that time is flying by, and he needs to start moving fast.
"I don’t know what's next; I’ve got to get going here," he says with a laugh, suddenly reaching over to grab a stack of scripts. "I have some reading to do."
As far as we know, Scorsese is attached to numerous projects, all of which could be his next film. There’s “Home,” “Devil in the White City,” “The Life of Jesus,” “Sinatra,” his Untitled Hawaii Crime Movie with Dwayne Johnson and, least likely, “The Wager.”
It should be noted that five of those six projects involve Leonardo DiCaprio, who might be busy this summer shooting Damien Chazelle’s next film, and will be doing promo on Paul Thomas Anderson’ “One Battle After Another” in September. So, unless Scorsese ends up recasting DiCaprio, we’re looking at “Home” being the likeliest possibility.
