AFI Film Festival has announced that Clint Eastwood’s “Juror No. 2” will have its world premiere as the closing night film on Sunday, Oct. 27. Warner Bros has now dated the film for limited theatrical release on Friday, November 1st.
Initially, Warners was heavily focused on “Dune: Part Two”, and “Joker 2” for Oscar campaigning, but the latter stumbled at Venice — is “Juror No. 2” their backup plan?
Eastwood is 94, and it’s great news that “Juror No. 2,” which is being called his “final film,” will be released this fall. Last year, THR had reported that Eastwood “wanted to find one last project in order to be able to ride off into the sunset with his head held high.” He found the script for “Juror No. 2” and said this is “the one”.
“Juror No. 2” stars Toni Collette, Nicholas Hoult, Kiefer Sutherland and Zoey Deutch. The film is “set during a murder trial where one of the jurors slowly realizes he killed the victim in a reckless-driving accident and tries to save the defendant without incriminating himself.”
