Fresh off his semi-watchable directorial debut, ”Monkey Man,” which I found a bit messy in terms of editing, pacing and directing, Dev Patel might have just landed the biggest role of his career. According to Daniel Richtman, Patel is in talks to star, alongside Scarlett Johansson, in the next ‘Jurassic World’ movie.
Every time I keep shrugging off this movie, I’m then reminded that Gareth Edwards is directing it, and that’s really the only reason to look forward to this one. No word yet on whether “The Creator” and ‘Rogue One’ DP, Greig Fraser, will be lensing this ‘Jurassic’ movie, but he’d be one hell of an addition to this project.
As you can imagine, Universal is trying hard to set all the necessary pieces in motion for the reboot to hit its targeted summer 2025 release date. A July 31 production start is already scheduled, David Koepp — a talented writer — has almost completed the script and now it looks as though the main cast is being assembled for this latest ‘Jurassic’ reboot.
