Emma Mackey (“Sex Education”) has joined JJ Abrams’ untitled new film. The cast already included Jenna Ortega, and Glen Powell. Production is set to begin “early next year” (via THR). Abrams will soon be getting out of director’s jail.
The Hot Mic recently revealed that Abrams’ film is an 80s throwback, might be inspired by “The Last Starfighter” and about “an author of popular fantasy novels who reveals that the mythical world he’s known for creating is actually real, sending Powell’s character on a quest.”
It should be noted that Dwayne Johnson recently posted on Instagram that he was working on a project with Abrams. Has he been added to the cast of Abrams’ next film? Or replacing Powell? We don’t really know.
Zak Penn is rumored to have penned Abrams’ film. His credits include “Last Action Hero,” “Behind Enemy Lines,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Ready Player One,” and “Free Guy.”
