Lupita Nyong’o is the latest to join Christopher Nolan’s next film (via THR).
This is great news. Despite winning an Oscar for “12 Years A Slave,” Nyong’o remains one of the best and most underused actresses in Hollywood. She deserved an Oscar nom for her work in Jordan Peele’s “Us,” and elevated this past summer’s otherwise middling “A Quiet Place: Day One.”
Nyong’o joins a cast that already included Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Tom Holland, and Zendaya. No plot details have been revealed about Nolan’s film, and THR reports that none of the rumors have “come close to nailing Nolan’s real idea.”
Matt Belloni had previously reported that Nolan started writing the screenplay for this next film back in March, just a few days after “Oppenheimer” triumphed at the Oscars. Nolan’s film is supposed to start production in early 2025. Universal is backing the entire thing.
