Wes Anderson’s “The Phoenician Scheme” — a possible working title — will be shot this coming April in the UK. Production is said to run until mid June — don’t expect this one to be released until 2025.
I has previously reported that Bill Murray would star, alongside Michael Cera and Benicio del Toro, in Anderson’s next film. The tightly-knit plot revolves around three keys characters, there will also be some Anderson regulars showing up with smaller roles.
Roman Coppola is being credited as co-writer on the project. This isn’t the first time Coppola has partnered with Anderson — he also co-wrote “The Darjeeling Limited” and “Moonrise Kingdom.” The script for “The Phoenician Scheme” is said to have been written around the time of those films, in the late aughts.
Anderson has stated that he dusted the script up and is now finally ready to shoot it. The story is said to be planted in the “espionage” genre, tackling a father-daughter relationship.
