Andrew Haigh’s “All of Us Strangers” screened at Telluride last night. It’s getting praised left and right. We now have our contender to beat as THE movie of the fall festival season.
A 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, but with a whopping 9.5 average rating from critics. It’s at 98 on Metacritic. If you’ve seen Haigh’s previous films (“Lean on Pete,” “45 Years” and “Weekend”) then it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
Earlier this week, Telluride boss Julie Huntsinger singled out Haigh’s film with glowing praise. Next up for ‘Strangers’ is the New York Film Festival, it’s skipping Venice and TIFF, where I’ll be seeing it during the last week of September.
