Cameron Diaz has given up acting, according to her friend Selma Blair.

"I had lunch with Cameron the other day. We were reminiscing about the film. I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron’s retired from acting. She’s like ‘I’m done.”  Selma added: "I mean, she doesn’t need to make any more films. She has a pretty great life, I don’t know what it would take to bring her back. She’s happy."

Diaz last film was the misbegotten remake of "Annie" in 2014, ever since then, again according to Blair, she's rejected every movie offer that has been layed down on table for her.

Diaz is only 45. In my books, she'll always be known for "There's Something About Mary," to a lesser but still significant extent as Jim Carey's plump, sumptuous love interest in "The Mask," but the role of her career is no doubt as John Cusack's whacked-out significant other in "Being John Malkovich," where she de-glammed, that frizzled hairdo is a classic, and showed her true strengths as as an actress. She was also badly miscast in Martin Scorsese's 'Gangs of New York."
