The real absolute disaster of the moment has got to be Fede Alvarez' "The Girl in the Spider's Web." Its budget, according to a few reports that I've read, ranges between the $40-$50M mark. Two weeks since its November 9th release, the film has only made $13M at the domestic box-office. Judging by current projections, it might not even crack the $20 million mark. If you consider it a sequel to David Fincher's $100 million+ earning movie "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," that's 80% of the audience staying away. Alvarez' film needed a boost from critics to get people to buy tickets, but it's 40% rotten score on RT all but sealed its fate.
