Le Film Français is France’s Variety, so when they mentioned yesterday that Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” could possibly premiere at Cannes, people listened.
Of course, one must always be skeptical about these sort of things until there’s definite confirmation from Universal, but today another positive indicator occurred in regards to Oppenheimer/Cannes.
Emily Blunt’s stylist went on Instagram to tell people to get ready for Cannes. Whether she’s just following the rumors or knows something we don’t is up for debate, but signs are currently pointing in the right direction.
Imagine having Scorsese, Anderson, Glazer and Nolan premiere their new films on the Croisette this coming May? It would be wild. The fest is coming off one of its weaker editions and it would great for cinema if they could pull off one for the ages in the summer.
