Nicholas Hoult to Star in David Leitch’s Heist Thriller

March 24, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Amazon recently landed David Leitch’s untitled bank heist thriller, which is being eyed as the filmmaker’s next film. Progress is going fast on this one as Nicholas Hoult (“Nosferatu”) has just been cast in the lead role. A summer shoot is being planned.

The story centers around a group of bank robbers who use social media to document their heists, playing a cat and mouse game with police. This one will definitely be shooting before Leitch takes on the next ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ movie sometime next year.

Leitch is hot these days. He directed 2022’s “Bullet Train,” starring Brad Pitt, and despite the disappointing box office, last year’s “The Fall Guy,” starring Ryan Gosling, earned good reviews. Every studio wants to work with Leitch, and that’s despite his abrupt exit from “Jurassic World Rebirth” which had Universal scrambling for a replacement.

Leitch specializes in thrills, and for the most part, had had a successful career in directing these high-octane action films. With the already-mentioned ‘Fall Guy,’ the stunt coordinator-turned-filmmaker has also helmed “John Wick,” “Atomic Blonde,” “Deadpool 2,” “Hobbs and Shaw,” and “Bullet Train.”
