This trailer for Amy Schumer’s “Kinda Pregnant” is really something. It’s a Netflix original, being dumped on February 5, and coming to us with an absurd story at its center.
In the film, Schumer’s lonely singleton realizes that life would be so much better if she just pretends to be pregnant. No, really, she straps on a prosthetic belly and starts to reap the benefits of pre-motherhood. It’s a gag that looks like it’ll be stretched out for 90 minutes.
Even worse, the film is directed by Tyler Spindel, who happens to be Adam Sandler’s nephew, and has mostly just helmed David Spade movies (“The Wrong Missy,” “Father of the Year”). The year is off to a great start.
