Jennifer Aniston is Reportedly Eyeing Ariana Grande, Zendaya & Sydney Sweeney for ‘9 to 5’ Remake

January 21, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

A few months ago, we learned that Jennifer Aniston was spearheading an attempt to remake “9 to 5.” She has apparently reached out to a batch of A-listers for the cast, including Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya and Ariana Grande who are “at the top” of her casting wish list.

“Sydney and Zendaya are heavily booked for the next twelve months and Jen wants to make this movie next year if she can,” an insider reveals. “The 9 to 5 remake isn’t technically green-lit yet [by Disney-owned Twentieth Century Studios] but getting a ‘yes’ from one of these actresses, and making them permanent members of ‘Team Aniston’ is the key step that Jen is undertaking right now.”

The original 1980 film, which starred Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, tackled three women working for a sexist boss who find a way to turn the tables on him. Aniston’s remake is still seeking a director, and given the themes of the film, it’s probably going to be a woman. Is Nancy Meyers available?
