Andrea Arnold tells Screen that her next film will probably be the Scarlett Johannson-starring “Featherwood.” She’s already location scouted the project, and is now looking to set up a cast and production start for the film.
“Featherwood” is said to be about real-life FBI informant Carol Blevins, a heroin addict and “Aryan Princess featherwood” (property of a gang member) who became one of the FBI’s most important informants during an epic, six-year investigation into the murderous, neo-Nazi crime and drug syndicate known as the Aryan Brotherhood Of Texas.
Arnold’s last film, “Bird,” starring Barry Keoghan and Franz Rogowski, premiered at Cannes and was finally released a few months ago; it turned out to be the most divisive of her career. Arnold is the filmmaker behind acclaimed films such as “Fish Tank,” “American Honey” and “Red Road.”
