TIFF Adds ‘Queer,’ ‘The Room Next Door,’ ‘The Brutalist,’ ‘Saturday Night’ ‘Megalopolis' and More

Well, there you have it. It took ‘em long enough, but after many days of speculation, the Toronto International Film Festival has added some big titles to its lineup.

Of note, it looks like Jason Reitman’s “Saturday Night” will also be headed to Telluride. This sets up a nice late festival run for Reitman’s film, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets added to NYFF as well.

It’ll be interesting to see the reaction Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” gets in Toronto. It’s a puzzling film that left many critics scratching their heads at Cannes. As far as I can tell, this will be the only other festival that screens “Megalopolis” before its September 27 theatrical release.

Meanwhile, the premiere statuses for Almodovar, Corbet, and Guadagnino re-confirm what was originally suspected, they are all skipping Telluride. Ditto “Babygirl,” and “On Swift Horses,” both set to screen at TIFF.

The 2024 edition of TIFF begins on September 5. You can see the full list of new films below:
