Some promising casting news as Josh Brolin (“No Country For Old Men”) is set to play the villain in Edgar Wright’s “The Running Man” remake. Glen Powell, Katy O’Brian and Daniel Ezra were already part of the cast (via Deadline)
‘Running Man’ is set to shoot this month in London. Of course, as with all of his projects these days, Powell will star as the lead. Paramount has set up a theatrical release date for the film, November 22, 2025.
Wright has mentioned, many times, that if there ever was one movie that he’d love to remake then it would be 1987’s “The Running Man,” which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. According to The Wrap’s sources, with knowledge of the project, Wright’s movie “is a more faithful adaptation” of Stephen King’s novel.
Wright is coming off the worst-reviewed film of his career: 2021’s “Last Night in Soho.” He still has a fairly large base of supporters, having helmed such films as “Baby Driver,” “The World’s End,” “Hot Fuzz,” “Scott Pilgrim vs The World” and “Shaun of the Dead.”
