This is too good to ignore. Facebook’s most infamous film critic has weighed in on ‘Joker: Folie À Deux,’ and it’s as entertaining a ramble as you might expect coming from him.
Paul Schrader tells Interview Magazine that he bought a ticket to “Joker: Folie À Deux,” left his seat after “10-15 minutes,” did some shopping at the mall, then returned to his seat to watch “another 10 minutes” and finally walked out of the film for good because “that was enough […] It’s a really bad musical.”
Much of the problem Schrader has with ‘Folie a Deux’ resides in his total dislike of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga as actors.
I don’t like either of those people. I don’t like them as actors. I don’t like them as characters. I don’t like the whole thing. I mean, those are people who, if they came to your house, you’d slip out the back door.
Schrader recently admitted that he didn’t “get” Phoenix as an actor, and that he wasn’t a fan of his work. It’s not much of a surprise to see him hating on the actor’s latest film. While we’re at, check out Schrader’s recent pan of Jason Reitman’s “Saturday Night.”
