Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie’s HBO series “The Curse” starring Emma Stone has a teaser. It’s set to premiere its first three episodes, totalling 159 minutes, next week at the New York Film Festival. The Film Stage’s Jordan Raup says he’s heard it's “better than any film released so far this year”. Sold!
Safdie co-stars as a reality TV producer who follows a married couple (Stone and Fielder) as they gentrify a New Mexico neighborhood that just may or may not be haunted. The series will no doubt be tackling race and class issues.
The 10-episode series is co-produced by Showtime and A24, with Fielder and Safdie, along with brother Josh Safdie. It’s set to be released on Paramount+ November 10th before making its on-air debut on Showtime November 12th.
