On the Hot Mic podcast, Jeff Sneider is saying that Vanessa Kirby has signed on to play Sue Storm in the MCU’s upcoming “Fantastic Four.” I’m a big fan of hers, but, let’s be frank here, this is a paycheck gig for Kirby.
Usually, Reed Richards is the lead of the F4, but in the MCU's “Fantastic Four” Sue will be the lead. There’s been an inordinate amount of rumors as to who else has been cast in the film. Scoopers, insiders, whatever you like to call them, have namechecked too many actors these last few months.
Director Matt Shakman is attached to this F4 relaunch. So far, no actor has been cast as Reed Richards. Sneider does mention that, although he originally rejected the offer, Adam Driver could still sign on for the part after the actors strike.
So, that’s one actress signed on and three more actors to go. Although, there’s a very strong rumor out there that Joseph Quinn will also be playing Johnny Storm. Regardless, Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” is supposed to start shooting next January. It currently has a 2025 release date.
