Garth Davis’ “Foe” has a trailer.
The film is set to world premiere at the New York Film Festival, just days before its October 6th release via Amazon. Here’s a test-screening reaction from a month ago.
The film, set in 2065, stars Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal as a couple living out in the middle of a desert who have their calm life rattled when a mysterious stranger (Aaron Pierre) comes knocking at their door one night.
Davis broke out with his 2016 Oscar-nominated feature “Lion,” he then struck out with his follow-up, “Mary Magdelene.” The trailer bills him as a “visionary filmmaker,” which he is not.
