If you’re wondering what Alfonso Cuarón might be doing next, he recently completed his ambitious Apple TV series starring Cate Blanchett, and is now prepping a movie about Phillip K. Dick.
Charlize Theron is set to star in Cuarón‘s first feature film since his 2018 critically-acclaimed “Roma.” Based on the personal life of science-fiction author Phillip K. Dick, “Jane” will tell the fictional relationship between Dick and his twin sister Jane, who died six weeks after birth.
I’m hearing a late fall production date is being eyed for this one. Of course this is all strike dependant, but that’s the plan, for now. Per the official synopsis:
“Jane” is a “moving, suspenseful and darkly humorous story about a woman’s unique relationship with her brilliant, but troubled twin, who also happens to be the celebrated novelist Philip K. Dick. While attempting to rescue her brother from predicaments both real and imagined, Jane plunges deeper and deeper into a fascinating world of his creation.”
Cuarón is the director of such great films as “Roma,” “Y Tu Mama Tambien” and “Children of Men.”
As mentioned, he has an Apple series coming next year, it’s called “Disclaimer.” Filming for the series had begun in June 2022 and wrapped in March 2023. In fact, one source told me that “Disclaimer” was shot in the UK over the course of 280 days.
