Joseph Kosinski’s movie, “Apex,” is continuing to film at Formula One events, but without its star Brad Pitt. Although, there have been rumors of Pitt wanting to defy the strike and just shoot the damn thing.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer was interviewed at the Hungarian Grand Prix this morning, he made it clear that he fully supports the strike, but that they are still filming as much as they can without the SAG actors for the F1 movie.
I presume that Kosinski and his crew are shooting the racing scenes via that small, moveable 6k camera they designed to take the viewer inside the cockpit. The tech being utilized in this film has never been used before in a motion picture.
The film, which stars Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon and Tobias Menzies, follows a driver (Pitt) who comes out of retirement to mentor a younger driver (Idris), and take his final stab at glory on the track as the younger driver’s teammate.
