In an interview with WIRED, Christopher Nolan acknowledges that the people he’s shown “Oppenheimer” to come out of it speechless:
They leave the movie absolutely devastated. They can't speak.
Hyperbole much? Sounds like a real crowd-pleaser. The feel-good movie of the summer! You will literally leave the cinema with PTSD.
In all seriousness, I’m sure he’s not lying about the reactions, but I really don’t like pre-release buzz like this. They are promising us something life-changing, expectations get so high that even a brilliant film can’t match it.
We’ll get to know for ourselves how stunning “Oppenheimer” is when it gets released in theaters on July 21st.
