Jonathan Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, claims that the Marvel star’s arrest on 03.25.23 was the result of NYPD “racism” citing that six of the responding officers were white.
You know you’re screwed when your lawyer has to pull the race card for you.
Chaudhry also cites the victim saying “I don't know” nineteen times," when asked by arriving medics and cops how she'd injured herself. She’s basing this evidence off police body-worn camera footage that was turned over to the defense by prosecutors.
Couldn’t the victim saying “I don’t know” that many times also mean that she was trying to cover for Majors? I’m trying to stay neutral here, but it’s very hard.
Chaudhry then mentions how Cops ignored Majors' own account, had no idea that he was a celebrity and were instead fixated on if his 3-story penthouse was actually his. Her theory is that they were probably wondering why this black man is living in such a high-end place.
She additionally says that the victim did not have bruises and a broken finger at the hands of Majors, but instead, rather, too a fall after drinking and taking sleeping pills. Wouldn’t a toxicology report confirm this? I hope authorities took one the night of the arrest.
Majors appeared Tuesday in a Manhattan court to defend these domestic assault allegations. An August 3rd trial date was set in the misdemeanor case.
Marvel delayed their ‘Kang/Avengers’ movies by a year last week, they’re probably still trying to figure out what to do with Majors— maybe they should just wait until the trial occurs and the evidence, potentially, exonerates Majors.
Jonathan Majors was arrested in NYC on March 25 after police responded to a 911 call from a lower Manhattan apartment where a female, apparently Majors’ girlfriend, had bruises on her head, neck, and had a broken finger.
This trial is critical for Majors to win if he’s going to have a film career. He’s had one hell of a year so far with “Creed III,” “Ant Man III” and his Sundance hit “Magazine Dreams” coming out this fall.
He’s supposed to play the villain in the next two ‘Avengers’ movies. If found guilty, Marvel will have to replace him or completely scratch off the character. Disney/Searchlight also bought “Magazine Dreams” for a hefty sum at this past January’s Sundance, they were going to Oscar campaign him hard for Best Actor.
