Pedro Almodóvar will finally be shooting his first full-length English-language feature next March in NYC.
Although he’s now directed two shorts in English, “The Human Voice” and “Strange Way of Life,” he’s stated that they were just warm-ups to get him accustomed to directing English-speaking actors.
Today, Almodóvar confirmed to a Spanish outlet that one of the actresses cast is British and the other American, exactly — both are exactly who he wanted and they accepted his offer right away.
What he does tell us is that his next film will be about two women, and that the actresses who will play them will be American and English, and that they are the ones he wanted. They accepted the challenge. Oh, and also that none of them correspond to Hollywood standards.
Almodóvar says this new film takes place in New York and is about three characters.
