Shia LaBeouf is apparently writing a film about Auschwitz and he wants Abel Ferrara to direct it.
This can’t end well.
I imagine this never sees the light of day but, if I’m wrong, it’ll be interested to see if he can somehow pull this off. If he fails miserably then it’ll still be entertaining to witness. It’s a win-win. So, yeah, go ahead, Shia, complete your screenplay about Auschwitz.
Abel Ferrara announced in an interview with The Film Stage that his “Padre Pio” star Shia LaBeouf is currently writing a movie about Auschwitz that the two men are thinking of filming together. No other details were provided at this time. Variety has tapped LaBeouf’s manager for additional details.
This wouldn’t be LaBeouf’s first foray into screenwriting. He wrote the screenplay for his autobiographical film “Honey Boy,” directed by Alma Har’el, which tackled his relationship with an abusive father. The actor later called the script “fucking nonsense” and admitted that he distorted the actual facts.
