I’m not sure what James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is concocting when it comes to her next 007 adventure, but it might involve Rebel Wilson.
The Australian actress Wilson has revealed that producers are already auditioning roles for the next Bond movie. Wilson knows this because she auditioned for a role herself.
Wilson confirmed that while speaking to Variety.
As she explained to Variety, the audition took place last year, though the actress didn’t give any additional details as to whether or not she landed the role.
As far we know, the next Bond is still in the scripting stage, so if Wilson did land an acting role in it this early then it would have probably been crafted with her specifically in mind.
Message to Broccoli: are you seriously going to cast Wilson as Moneypenny? Q? A new character? This would indicate a more comedic leaning to this next instalment. Wilson is a wryly comedic goofball.
We’re still not sure who will be playing Bond. The rumors are pointing to Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but nothing has been confirmed. We imagine the film won’t be shooting until, at least, 2024.
