We have an actual big update on Timothee Chalamet and James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown.”
In an interview with Collider, Mangold is saying that production on the film will begin this August. In addition, Chalamet will be doing his own singing in the musical biopic. Hopefully he nails the nasally Dylan voice …
”A Complete Unknown” was greenlit by Fox Searchlight during the pandemic. It is said to follow Dylan as he “rises to fame on his way to becoming a folk music icon.”
This would ideally take place during the singer’s beginnings in the 1960 folk scene in New York City’s Greenwich Village up until Dylan’s 1966 motorcycle crash. A 6-year stretch that had the musician quite literally changing the world with his song lyrics.
The film’s title is taken from a lyric in Dylan’s most famous song “Like A Rolling Stone.”
Rumors have had Benedict Bumberbatch playing folk musician Pete Seeger, an immense influence on Dylan, paving the way for his infatuation of the folk music scene. Cumberbatch and Seeger actually do have similar facial traits.
In the meantime, Mangold is currently set to unveil ‘Indiana Jones 5’. His track record as a director is more-than-decent with a filmography that includes the likes of “Ford v Ferrari” “Logan,” and “I Walk the Line.”
