You just know the Razzies are going to have a field day with this one.
Alec Baldwin has chosen his post-“Rust” comeback and it’s a movie starring Mickey Rourke, Nick Cannon and Tara Reid. It’s set to be released later this year.
It’s probably very hard for Baldwin to find good roles at the moment, he accidentally shot and killed someone on-set, but he could have surely done better than this, right?
The film is called “Hollywood Heist”. A first time director called Mike Hatton will be behind the camera — who wants to bet he’s the son of a producer or the nephew, something like that.
The comedy crime caper was shot in Las Vegas and Majorca, Spain, and finished principal photography in Los Angeles last week. Baldwin, Rourke and Reid are said to be playing themselves in the film.
The news comes just 24 hours after Baldwin was exonerated from involuntary manslaughter charges. He’s now back shooting and completing “Rust” in Montana.
They could have just scrapped “Rust”, but now that this low-budget indie has gained notoriety, for all the wrong reasons, there will be curiosity seekers out there who will want to stream it, whenever it gets released.
The late Halyna Hutchins has been replaced by another DP, we don’t know who exactly. “Rust” is being produced on a $6–7 million budget and has been described as a "passion project" for Baldwin. He’s compared it to Clint Eastwood’s “Unforgiven.”
