The 77th Cannes Film Festival is still six months away, but it’s never too early for an announcement. Greta Gerwig has been confirmed as the Jury President for the next edition of Cannes which is set to take place May 14-25, 2024.
This is a very early announcement and it comes on the heels of Cannes having one of its best lineups of the 21st Century this past May. The amount of strong films that came out of its last edition are staggering from filmmakers like Martin Scorsese, Jonathan Glazer, Todd Haynes, Wes Anderson, and Aki Kaurismaki.
So, let’s start with our first spitball of Cannes 2024, shall we? I’ve assembled 45 titles that stand the best chance at cracking the competition. It’s looking like another banner year is coming for the festival.
