Per Daniel Richtman, the reason why Disney has called extensive five-month reshoots for Julius Onah’s “Captain America: Brave New World” is because Marvel, who got to see a rough cut of the film, felt the action scenes “were not big or satisfying enough”. A poorly rated test-screening earlier this year didn’t help.
If you remember, a week ago, Jeff Sneider was the first one to report that ‘Brave New World’ was being delayed by more than a year, moving to a February 2025 launch, this after it "didn't do great in a test screening.”
‘Brave New World’ is indeed getting extensive reshoots — from next January to May — with three major action sequences being reshot from scratch. Yes, that’s a whopping five months of reshoots. Leads Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford are said to be part of the January production relaunch.
‘Brave New World’ had originally wrapped filming last June, and was set for a July 2024 release date. There are red flags all over this one. You don’t just push a major movie like this out of your calendar unless trouble is brewing.
