According to Forbes, Walt Disney Studios spent $209.3 million to produce the upcoming live-action “Snow White”. Last month, Disney decided to delay the release of the controversial live action movie by nearly a year. It will now open on March 21, 2025.
Why the delay? Original reports claimed the delay occured because of the SAG-AFTRA strike, but then ComicBookMovie reported an insider telling them it was due to “financial safety reasons” to ensure it doesn’t flop. Does Disney believe the controversy surrounding this movie will just evaporate into thin air by 2025?
“Snow White,” which stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, written by Greta Gerwig, was originally slated for release on March 22, 2024. Will the trailer still be released in a couple of weeks? It’s rumoured to be attached to screenings of Disney’s upcoming animated movie “Wish.”
Principal photography on “Snow White” began on March 7, 2022 and wrapped in June 2022. So, it’ll be released almost three years after production had wrapped. There have been rumors of reshoots having been called on the film, but, for now, they are just that, rumors.
