Comedian Chris Rock has been tapped by Universal Pictures to direct the “definitive cinematic biopic” about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. The film will be based on Jonathan Eig’s acclaimed biography, “King: A Life”. Steven Spielberg will be executive producer. Rock has directed three features to date, all comedies, with 2014’s “Top Five” having gotten good reviews. This means we’ll have to wait just a little longer for that “Pootie Tang” sequel.
