Apparently, “M3GAN” will be headed to VOD on January 24th. That’s around 18 days after its January 6th theatrical debut .This is how studios operate these days — even if the movie is a hit, it’ll be available in no time on streaming.
So far, audiences want to see the film in theaters, “M3GAN” is estimated to make another $20 million this weekend — that’s just a 20% drop from last weekend’s excellent. There’s no stopping this Blumhouse hit.
It’s quite the fear for a beginning-of-January horror film. Blumhouse has said that the budget for “M3GAN” was around $12 million. They’ve already quadrupled that. Forbes’ Mark Hughes is predicting a finally domestic tally of $125 million for the movie and that’s not even counting other countries.
This is further proof that there are plenty of people out there willing to buy a movie ticket as long as the subject matter suits their needs. Horror movies are big these days and one can expect more of these cheapies to come out in the coming months. They’re cheap to make and audiences love them.
