I’ve been saying since March that Luca Guadagnino’s “Bones and All” will be going to Venice. I’m honestly surprised that Telluride selected the film, especially since I’ve been hearing that it’s going to be quite divisive.
It's fairly graphic and, quite frankly, shocking, I was told. Definitely not the Guadagnino of the summery “Call Me By Your Name” and “I Am Love,” but you get hints and glimpses of that style throughout the film. Call it a mix of Antonioni and Romero.
Regardless, a teaser was released this late afternoon. It definitely intrigues, but barely gives us anything in its 28 seconds of frames. Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor will be scoring the film, which stars Timothee Chalamet and Taylor Russell.
“Bones & All” follows a young woman (Russell) with cannibalistic urges who embarks on a road trip with Lee (Chalamet) to find her father, and figure out why she has a desire to eat those she loves.
