Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s “Bardo” is officially 174 minutes. This only makes me anticipate the film more.
Venice boss Alberto Barbera had originally not given an official runtime for the film, but said in his press conference last month that it was around 3-hours.
Now, let’s look at all the big lengthy fall titles:
Todd Field’s “Tar” is 158 minutes. Steven Spielberg’s “The Fabelmans” is 153 minutes. Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise” is 136 minutes. Andrew Dominik’s “Blonde” is 165 minutes. Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” sequel is 139 minutes.
Get ready to spend many hours in theaters this fall. Short movies are in short supply; that’s why it’s refreshing to see that Frederick Wiseman’s “Un Couple” is just 67 minutes long, ditto Joanna Hogg’s “The Eternal Daughter” at under 90 minutes.
