It seems as though Darren Aronofsky has already set up his next movie. According to a Production Weekly listing, It's called “Postcards from Earth” and will start shooting in L.A. on March 14th.
The current synopsis circling around is very vague: “An immersive and innovative exploration of planet Earth through the eyes of two human beings.” Sounds ambitious.
Tribeca Productions is handling the film rights. Aronofsky’s “The Whale” was just released in theaters to mixed reviews. The New York-born filmmaker has been hit and miss his entire career, but he’s one of the more exciting and unpredictable directors out there.
