Yorgos Lanthimos‘ follow-up to 2018’s “The Favourite,” “Poor Things,” is still in post-production and will most likely be released next year. However, Lanthimos is already set to shoot his next one, this one titled “AND.”
Lanthimos will again team up with Searchlight Pictures for the fifth time. Curiously, the film stars much of the main cast of “Poor Things. Principal photography on “AND” begins in New Orleans next week, and today some plot details were uncovered.
It is speculated that “AND”, co-written by Efthymis Filippou (The Lobster, The Killing of A Sacred Deer), will tell three separate stories; each letter representing a different tale.
Lanthimos mentioned the screenplay in a 2020 interview with Kelly Reichardt. It’s essentially an anthology film. The cast will include Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, and Jesse Plemons.
As for “Poor Things,” I broke the news during the summer that it was delayed until next year. I’m not sure exactly what the reason for that delay was.
