Wes Anderson’s “The French Dispatch” was released just a few months ago, not to mention he just wrapped shooting his next film “Asteroid City” in Spain. However, he’s already set his sights in directing another film this winter.
Anderson is set to direct an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’ starring Benedict Cumberbatch for Netflix. There is no word yet if it’s going to be done via stop motion animation like Anderson’s other Dahl adaptation, 2009’s “The Fantastic Mr. Fox,” but consider us intrigued.
Is Anderson going to start churning out a film per year ala Woody Allen? He tends to go a few years in between projects, but maybe he’s entered the “life is short phase of his career.” If everything goes according to planned then he would have a film released in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
I ranked Anderson’s films 10.27.21.
