The in-person component of the Sundance Film Festival will not happen for a second year-in-a-row and instead rely on screening the lineup of films virtually.
Consider me shocked, SHOCKED, by this cancelation. No, but seriously, it was a foreigner conclusion that if the Sundance Film Festival would indeed occur this year then it would very well be the superspreader event of the winter.
The decision by the festival to go completely virtual comes 15 days before Sundance’s opening night. They had originally set forth restrictions for attendees such as reduced screening capacities, mandatory triple vaccination and free testing.
I’ll be covering the Festival remotely in two weeks time, just like I did last year.
