The Sundance Institute has already launched the online platform for the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, which is set to take place as a hybrid event from January 20-30.
If it’s anywhere near as great as this past January’s highly successful online edition then there probably won’t be much of a reason for me to travel from the Northeast all the way to the Park City mountains of Utah. My decision will also depend on whether most, if not all, of the lineup will be made available on the digital platform.
Those attending the festival in-person will need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, with a vaccine that is approved by the World Health Organization. Masks will also need to be worn at all times, both in interior spaces and in queuing lines; In fact, the festival recommends that they be worn in all other outdoor settings, as well.
This past January’s online edition of Sundance world premiered a slew of critically-acclaimed titles including “Passing,” “Flee,” “CODA,” and “Summer of Soul.”
