After Spike Lee, Michel Gondry, and David F. Sandberg, here’s a new batch of directors who made films with no crew, and no budget during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Netflix is releasing “Homemade” next month. This anthology is a collection of short films from famous directors and actors, all shot during the pandemic. As seen in the trailer, despite the restrictions, creative freedom is still very much present in these short films, as the selected directors use figurines, zoom, and other such trickery to tell their stories.
Among the filmmakers included in this anthology film are Paolo Sorrentino, Rachel Morrison, Ladj Ly, Pablo Larraín, Sebastián Lelio, Nadine Labaki Naomi Kawase, David Mackenzie, Ana Lily Amirpour. The whole project was created by Larrain.
“Homemade” is set to be released by Netflix on June 30.
