If you remember, in December of 2007 it was first revealed that Quentin Tarantino was working on a Star Trek movie and had pitched the idea to JJ Abrams and Paramount. Tarantino had met for hours with writers Mark L. Smith, Lindsey Beer, and Drew Pearce. The meeting was to mostly kick around ideas for this possible project. Rumors indicated that Smith, who wrote “The Revenant,” seemed to be the man for the job and that Tarantino had stipulated the film would require to be rated R — more surprisingly, Paramount and Abrams were okay with that.
Tarantino’s chat with Empire magazine is now making the rounds, the most news-worthy quote having to do with the Star Trek movie he’s been working on with Smith. In the interview, Tarantino does finally confirm the ‘Trek’ project:
There’s a script that exists for it now, I need to weigh in on it, but haven’t been able to do that yet.
There’s also confirmation on his part that the movie would be rated R.
Oh yeah! It’s an R-rated move. If I do it, it’ll be R-rated.
Will this be movie number 10 for QT?
