20th Century Fox has announced, through an official press release, that the upcoming "Bohemian Rhapsody" 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD, being released on January 22nd, will feature the complete “Live Aid” Movie Performance featuring the two never-before-seen songs (“Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and “We Will Rock You").
This is fantastic news for fans of the film, especially those, like myself, that thought the musical sequences were the unadorned highlights of "Bohemian Rhapsody." The full Live-Aid set is something fans of the film and the band Queen have been clamoring for ever since the November theatrical release. And so, this is something that will most likely persuade more people to churn out their hard-earned cash to buy the Blu-Ray. The film already clocked in at 135 minutes, so the full "Live Aid" set had to be cut short, which consequentially led to the two aforementioned songs being axed from the film.
The odds of "Bohemian Rhapsody" garnering a Best Picture Oscar nomination have also increased over the last month, despite mixed reviews from critics. The film has become a blockbuster hit at the box-office ($670M worldwide) and mainstream audiences have fallen in love with it as well, if its perfect CinemaScore and 8.3 rating on IMDB are any indication.
