Richard Linklater's ‘Where’d You Go, Bernadette' release delayed until March 2019

The release date of Richard Linklater‘s Where’d You Go, Bernadette, an adaptation of Maria Semple‘s 2013 same-titled novel, has been bumped. Again? We were supposed to see it released this summer it was pushed to October, but now a 3.22.19 release date is basically spelling trouble for the production which stars Cate Blanchett, Billy Crudup, Emma Nelson, Kristen Wiig, Judy Greer and Laurence Fishburne.

I interviewed Linklater, for The Playlist, earlier last year when he was promoting "Last Flag Flying" at the New York Film Festival. He had this to say about "Bernadette":

"I’m doing “Where’d You Go Bernadette” with Cate Blanchett. Actually, we finished shooting and it’s set for release next year. It’s actually fairly similar in tone to “Last Flag Flying.” It’s really a nice companion piece in a way."

Cross off another festival candidate. Fall festival season is looking like this at the moment:

Damien Chazelle's First Man, Barry Jenkins' If Beale Street Could Talk, Alfonso Cuaron‘s Roma, Yorgios Lanthimos' The Favorite, Ang Lee‘s Thrilla in Manila, Adam McKay‘s Backseat, Steve McQueen’s Widows, Robert Zemeckis‘s The Women of Marwen, Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria, Xavier Dolan's The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, Bryan Singer‘s Bohemian Rhapsody, Olivier Assayas' Non Fiction, Claire Denis' High Life, Jacques Audiard's The Sisters Brothers, Mike Leigh's Peterloo, Felicity Jones as Ruth Bader Ginsburg in On The Basis of Sex, Harmony Korine's The Beach Bum, Felix Van Groeningen's Beautiful Boy, Florian Henckel Von Donnersmarck's Work Without Author.
